A little background to my growth with photography: ( click here to see my growth with imagery )
Now, I’ve been doing photography for some time now. I started when I was about sixteen with my little Sony point and shoot in Okinawa, Japan. I captured all that I could just to make sure I’d never forget all that there is to remember. I fell in love with photography from then on. I’ve photographed a mixture of things, but what I love the most is portraiture.
When it comes to learning things, we all start somewhere. When I decided to get serious about photography, I had bought a camera starter box kit with everything inside! A Canon XS to be exact. Talk about the basic of the basic! With that camera, I learned all that I could learn. After so many years, I decided to upgrade to a Canon T3i (pictured below). This was my go to for a very long time. It wasn’t up until last year, that I finally got my dream camera! A Canon 5D Mark II (which has then since been discontinued). So thankfully, I got it for an amazing price. This has been my dream camera since Canon released it many moons ago.
My main lens that I use for pretty much everything is the Yongnuo 35mm f/2 lens. Now, this lens is definitely a cheaper/more affordable one. There are plenty of other options out there, but since I wasn’t able to invest into something bigger and better, I decided to go with something that is still pretty decent. I use this for pretty much everything. Especially for close ups of the kiddos. Definitely my favorite lens!
My second go to lens would be my Canon 50mm f/1.8. The “nifty 50” is a wonderful lens! This was my very first lens and it definitely never let me down! This lens is meant to create an image more natural to what we see with the human eye. Again, it’s not the best 50mm out there, but it was the most affordable and one of the best to start with. But just because it was cheaper doesn’t mean a darn thing because it does not disappoint.
My last lens is a Canon 40mm f/2.8. This is the lens I had gotten when I bought my Mark II. I’ve maybe ever used this lens once or twice. It’s not my favorite lens, but then again, I don’t use it that much.
( here is a link to descriptions of different types of lenses ) I know I’m no professional at photography (or explaining things) but this is definitely a passion of mine. A skill that I’ll take with me wherever I go.
If you have any questions about the type of gear that I use, then please feel free to leave a comment or contact me!
