9 Of My Favorite Newborn Items

Having a baby in this day and age is quite something! There are so many new items for babies out there – it honestly blows my mind. When I first found out I was pregnant with my third, I began to search for the best baby items and clothing. I soon became extremely overwhelmed with all that I had found! I couldn’t narrow anything down. So I asked bloggers, other mama influencers, and even made this post here to help me choose what would be best. And here in this post is what I’ve bought and used and absolutely loved!

 
 
 
 
Co-Sleeper: If you’re like me, you’re not too big of a fan of co-sleeping. Though, in some cases, you just gotta. We were terrified of sleeping with our babies because of the fact that we might roll over on them or they might fall out of bed. So, we searched for a solution! Back in the day, we didn’t have fancy Dock a Tots or anything like that, so we ended up getting the SwaddleMe By Your Side Sleeper. Fit perfectly in between us in a queen sized bed.

Baby Wash: This right here is SUCH a lifesaver with bath time! We all have eczema, so it’s always been recommended for us to use Dove. I’ve used Dove all of my life and now my kids do too. And I’m so happy that they came out with a new eczema line AND the calming nights line. This tip-to-toe wash put my babies out QUICK. And because of that, I’ll honestly never use any other soap!

Mitten Cuffed Onesies: When our first child was born, these were not a thing at all. Although, I wish they had been because they are amazing! My husband and I were used to just buying baby mittens. Which eventually got expensive because we just kept losing them! And with our second child, we just decided that they were worthless because they never stayed on. Now after having our third, one of our nurses had suggested we buy some of these onesies. And man, I’m glad she did. We ended up buying a six pack! We bought the regular Gerber brand though there are companies out there that do make mitten cuffed onesies in all sorts of colors and patterns.

Sleep Sack: Now, our first two kiddos are notorious for never ever wanting to be swaddled. Ever since birth, swaddling has just never been their jam! Then we had a third kid, and my oh my, she loves to be swaddled! Which kind of sucks because I thought, “Hey, neither of the other kids loved being swaddled so theres no point in buying any or unpacking any.” *insert huge facepalm here* And now here we are. We were gifted our sleep sack as a congratulatory gift by the hospital I gave birth at.   While browsing Instagram, I’d noticed that many baby companies also make sleep sacks. Though, I had never tried any of them besides this one so I cannot vouch for any other companies. But this one linked above is fantastic! She never sleeps without it.

Burp Cloths: These are my all time favorite burp cloths! Before, we would just use little towels or swaddle blankets to clean spit up. This time around, I wanted to get actual burp cloths and see what all the hype was. And goodness gracious, I’m glad I did! These specific ones are from Copper Pearl and they come in a 3 pack. I’m in love with all of their patterns and colors.  I keep one in my diaper bag, one in the common area of our home, and one upstairs. They are soooo soft and super absorbent.

Reverse Zippered Onesies: I honestly wish these were a thing back when we had our first child because now that I have them, I have no clue what I’d do without them!! I have quite a few from Kyte Baby (the colors I have are: matcha, mustard, dusk, and sea foam) and I love how buttery soft the fabric is. There are two zippers – one on the bottom and one on the top. Unzip the top for wardrobe changes. And unzip the bottom for diaper changes! This brand is also my fav because these are made out of bamboo which makes these onesies temperature regulating and are great for littles with sensitive skin.

 
Auden Breastfeeding Bras: I’ve had trouble in the past finding a great nursing bra. I’ve tried cheap ones and I’ve tried expensive ones. And finally, with my third baby, I’ve found the perfect one! And my favorite part is that its wireless (which is a must for me). The cups are easy to clasp and unclasp and it’s such a comfortable wear!
 
Nose Frieda (or any of their products): My husband and I were very skeptical about these booger suckers when they first came out. We ended up sticking with the booger suckers that we would get from the hospital. This time around, we figured what the heck and decided to give it a whirl. Honestly, it’s a lot more magical than I thought. Who knew booger sucking could be so easy! I’ll honestly never use anything else to get those little suckers out of my baby’s nose.
Bibs Pacifiers: We have always used Phillips Avent Soothies. Never have we ever tried anything else. While super pregnant, I ended up searching the world wide web (gosh I sound old!) for different types of pacifiers. I came across Mushie and saw that they had pacifiers in literally every color you could think of. Which I loved! My absolute favorites are the glow in the dark ones because they always seem to lose them at night. Definitely makes it easier to find in the dark!
