While Josh is away, I’ve catered myself to do it yourself and sewing projects to keep me extremely busy. So I must admit, I’ve gone on a silly tie dying binge. I’ve bought shirts, bottoms, socks, bags, cloths – pretty much anything and everything that can be dyed. Today, I decided to try something new. I found this idea on Google a few weeks ago and figured I’d give it a go.
Tie dye jean shorts!
For this project, you’ll need TONS of patience and really good thick gloves.
A few tips for dying jeans:
-Make sure you soak your jeans in warm water first and squeeze out the excess.
-If you don’t own or want to buy white jeans, use an old pair of jeans and cut them into shorts. Use bleach to make them white.
-They sell tie dye powders in all art stores, though, they come in packets and not squeeze bottles. If you want to spend the extra money to buy the squeeze bottles, then go ahead. I suggest buying this five dye tie dying kit from Walmart for $19.95 (Or their three dye set $9.99). Both kit comes with rubber bands, dye, bottles, extra dyes in packets, plastic gloves, etc.
